My Name is Pastor Gary R. Pomrenke. I was born in Neenah, Wisconsin and grew up in a small town named Menominee, which is located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I have been married to the love of my life, Tracie, since 2014. We have 5 children together. My oldest Jake has recently moved to Summerville, SC with his lovely wife Erin and their daughter Charlotte. My younger son Jordan lives nearby. My daughter’s name is Jillian and she is married to Larenzo and is the manager at Sports Clips in La Plata. They have one son, Enzo (2 1/2) and a second (Matteo) due anyway now. My “bonus” children are Erika and Jordan.  Erika lives and works in Wisconsin. Jordan is an Insurance agent.  He, his wife and daughter Alice also live in Wisconsin. We have three 1/2 grandchildren, Alice, Charlie, Enzo, and Matteo (Any Day)

After High School, I attended Northern Michigan University for close to 18 months before enlisting in the United States Air Force. In the Air Force, I served in many different capacities. I was trained as an aircraft mechanic, but I finished my career as my unit’s First Sergeant. I retired out of the 201st Airlift Squadron, DCANG at Andrews AFB, Md. in July of 2012 after serving 25 plus years. I am a big sports fan. We are Green Bay Packers season ticket holders. I am also a huge University of Michigan Fan. Tracie and I like going to local wineries when we have some downtime. We love hanging out with our family and friends and playing cards and other games.

I have been a Life-long Lutheran and have been very active at every church that I have been a part of. I have served three different congregations for a total of 16 years as a Pastoral Assistant / Deacon at Grace Lutheran in La Plata; The Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Bryans Road; and now St. Paul’s in Mechanicsville. I have been very blessed to serve under some incredibly gifted Pastors. Pastor Eric Peterson and Pastor Christopher Ogne have made the biggest impacts. I graduated in May of 2018 with a BA in Religious Studies. I was granted colloquy in December of 2018 and was ordained as a Specific Ministry Pastor (SMP) on January 27th, 2019 where I began serving as the Pastor of St. Paul’s. I will soon be completing my Master's Degree in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty University. I am a blessed man who loves serving Our Lord in any way that I can. Tracie and I are looking forward to the next chapter of our ministry together.
